For over a month I’ve been violating several rules of Getting Things Done: I hadn’t been managing my inbox, I had been working out of it instead of cleaning it out, and I hadn’t filed anything in a while.
I decided to take advantage of a free afternoon and clean things up. It took about 7 hours, but the results were worth the time.
Since I had been working out of my inbox most of the remaining items weren’t actionable. I spent most of my time scanning, throwing things away, and doing digital and physical filing.
Now to keep it under control in the future.
