Highlights from last week

I exercised and wrote every day. I did well on my other two goals as well.

I went out on Saturday night and didn’t meditate earlier in the day.

What I learned from what didn’t work

Same as previous weeks. Work on my goals early in the day.

Doing Nothing Can Be Okay

I read an article today about how to be happier on social media. I’m not linking to it because I can summarize it: it’s okay to not comment or react to posts.

It’s okay to not answer the phone. It’s okay to not reply to an email or a text. It’s okay to not engage in an argument or react to a provocation.

It’s okay to do nothing.

I rode my stationary bike for 16 minutes.

Time to Step up My Exercise

When I started exercising again in November I had been sedentary for some time. I started out slowly, doing 15 minutes on my stationary bike. A couple of weeks ago I moved up to 16 minutes. Not much, I know, but it was a moral victory.

This week I’m bumping up to 20 minutes. Again, not a lot, but in the past I’ve moved up too much too soon and gotten discouraged. I’m in this for the long haul. A little at a time.
