Time to Wake Up
Saturday, March 8, 2025
I’ve been doing this on and off for a few years. I started in 2020 when the pandemic hit and moved to another site when we seemed to be past that. Keeping up with it started to become a grind, though. I had locked myself into a structured daily format that was getting tiresome to maintain. I was also frustrated with the software I was using; it was too cumbersome. I tried to keep going, but I kept falling behind and telling myself I would catch up.
Then Donald Trump was elected again.
I didn’t laugh for a while after that. I stopped following most of the news and focused on things within my immediate sphere of influence and interests: my family, my job, and my hobbies.
Now, a few months later, I feel ready to re-engage. I’m paying attention to what’s going on, and my feelings of resignation are giving way to righteous indignation.
I did some research and found an easy to use, inexpensive site. I’ve lifted all of the self-imposed rules I had put on myself before. I’m not going to adhere to any schedule or format. I’m not going to censor anything. I’m not going to avoid any topics. I’m not going to send emails or post on social media when I update the site. if you want to follow along, check the site manually or use RSS.
I don’t know how long I’ll keep this up. We’ll see. I’ll try to keep at least part of the content apolitical and funny, but what’s going on in this country and the world right now is too important to ignore.
Talk to you soon.
