A Can of Worms

The problems associated with this Signal fiasco are too many to count; but let’s try.
- It was probably a violation of the Espionage Act.
- It was probably a violation of the Presidential Records Act.
- It endangered the lives of U.S. military and intelligence personnel.
- It gave our adversaries greater opportunities to spy on us.
- It further damaged our credibility with our allies and likely made them more hesitant to share information with us.
- It demonstrated the incompetence and laziness of our key defense and national security leaders.
- The failure of those responsible to admit their errors and make amends for them is at least as worrisome as the errors themselves.
- It raises the question: How many other times has this happened, and will it continue to happen?
I could go on, but I’m already too disgusted to continue.
